    Challenge

    The City of Houston Public Works is currently in the planning and initial implementation phase of the current consent decree. There are several projects identified as Early Action to be constructed in the next few years. The model analysis reviewed proposed improvements in the Eddington and Wrightwood areas to reduce and eliminate key SSO locations.

    Solution

    Aguazé Solutions implemented Optimizer WCS and InfoWorks ICM using optimization based planning and traditional modeling techniques to analyze and identify sewer performance of several alternatives. Improvements included gravity sewer upsizing, pump station sizing/alignments, and new storage facilities. I/I mitigation was also considered for ongoing flow reduction.
