    Challenge

    The City of Houston Public Works engaged Aguazé Solutions to construct a 2D hydraulic model of the Hunting and Greens Bayou for use in evaluating the future hydraulic performance of the proposed deep tunnel system during a 100-year storm event.

    Solution

    Aguazé Solutions utilized InfoWorks ICM to construct a hybrid 1D-2D model of the catchment to predict overland runoff and tunnel performance. Two tunnel alignments were analyzed to assess their impact on reduction in water surface elevation through the bayou. Flood inundated areas were identified and analyzed for reduction in water levels.
