    Challenge

    Bethlehem Township currently has InfoWorks ICM 2D stormwater models for their watersheds. In order to improve usability for city staff, they requested a conversion of the model from InfoWorks to PCSWMM. The original model contains 1D and 2D network elements for flow routing and an estimated hydrology for runoff.

    Solution

    Aguazé Solutions rebuilt the model in PCSWMM using built-in and custom tools. 1D elements were imported and reviewed for correctness. River reaches and 2D elements were reconstructed to match InfoWorks ICM. All hydrological parameters were reestablished using the EPA SWMM Manual guidelines and soil survey results. A sensitivity analysis using the PCSWMM SRTC tool was performed to determine which parameters will be most critical going into future model calibration.
